This group project on waste management for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes taught me a lot about teamwork and problem-solving. Working with my team was a great opportunity to practice working together, sharing ideas, and learning from each other.
One of the most valuable parts of this project was learning how to bring together different types of knowledge, such as environmental laws, new technology like plastic recycling, and the specific needs of the tribe. We had to think about how to find solutions that were not only practical but also matched the tribe’s culture and could help improve their economy.
As part of the team, I helped research how CERCLA works and looked for ways to get funding for the project. This helped me better understand environmental laws and how they can be used to help communities. Through group discussions and sharing ideas, I learned how to listen to others, consider their opinions, and work together to come up with the best plan.
This project also improved my ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way. When preparing the presentation, I learned how to communicate clearly, especially when talking about both environmental protection and economic growth.
Overall, this project showed me the importance of teamwork and how working together can help solve big problems in a way that benefits everyone.
